scheduling

It’s only right and natural to start figuring out the draft date now, since Carter and Andy actually have an interest in getting cheaper airfares. Also I like to use the calendar feature on outlook to schedule things that don’t involve work. Also, we should all figure out whether we have travel plans and get this shit out of the way.

that said, I am going to be out of town the weekend of March 25/26, which is one week before opening day, and probably the best weekend in the abstract. I might also be in Pittsburgh the weekend before, although that’s less certain. Obviously we’re not going to do it March 9 either. So here’s my proposal: let’s do the draft the Saturday before opening day (Apr 2 is sox/tribe), then I volunteer to type in the results immediately thereafter, and then we won’t miss any games. Does this make sense? Anyway, people let me know if you’re out for April 1… that’s pretty much the best day for me, although I could probably skip Pittsburgh and we could do it two weeks early. i was really hoping it was going to be the weekend of march 25/26. That said, I would prefer the March 18/19 option over the April 2/3 date, since that is right before my finals.

I can't do march 11/12, as I already have tickets to go to Florida (to watch baseball!).

carter, are you actually voting no on the compromised 5x5 or have you not expressed a vote as of yet? pete is counting your lack of a vote as a no. again, i admit im shilling but still.

i have another draft sunday the 26th at 6pm, otherwise im free that whole time.

this is true... the compromise seems troubled though. at least we (appear to) have hitting stats in place if everything else goes wrong.

the compromise will prevail.

all we need is one vote. carter or andy can be the o'connor (or now kennedy) to this supreme court.

im still troubled we give saud a vote considering hes not a citizen. he should count for 3/5th a person right? or did i just go too far?

as long as it is a weekend, i am okay with it. the sooner we decide, the better, however.

There is a good chance April 1 will find me in Skankakee for our conference championships. This hinges on a few factors:
1. Tamsen Burke denies our request to hold the championships on April 8th here at Crown.
2. I finally break down from the pain of what has turned out to be a torn labrum, and stop playing.

Pete, when are you leaving town the weekend of the 25th/26th? Could we possibily do the draft the night of the 24th (Friday)? Can your plans be altered in any way? The 25th/26th gives us the best (and maybe only) shot at having the draft in Crerar again.

Why do I fear that this draft isn't gonna happen?

i'm willing to do it on Friday night, or sunday. i don't have my plane ticket for that weekend yet, and i only need to be there for one day of it (yes, it is another fantasy draft). the question is, can andy and carter get here early enough on friday to do the draft?

How about Sunday, in the late afternoon? That should give me enough time to get back, provided I take an early flight from NY. Let's make this happen. I like the idea of hustling across the united states to make it to fantasy drafts.

i have a yahoo live draft on that sunday (26th) at 6pm. I could possibly try and get it moved earlier in the day but i'd have try it sooner than later. i could concievably draft both teams at the same time but that would start to get really confusing.

omar,

i am flying across the country for the draft - and you are complaining about the possibility of a double-draft day! come on!

im not complainig im just saying if we have it around 6 i will be drafting two teams at once. i want to change the time of the other draft if we do end up doing it on sunday evening. don't get your panties in a bunch.
